What's that? You want us to Make IPAs Bitter Again? Bet. Here's a little beauty named Crego Lake IPA, named by the artist that designed that beautiful label: Josh Nadeau.
What You’ll Love About It
This is about as classic as it gets, a C-hop heavy IPA meant to bring you back to the 2006 heyday of IPA, but rocked into 2024 with the addition of Nectaron, a New Zealand hop known to for its passion fruit, peach, grapefruit, and pineapple aromas.
How It's Made
Two row and Pilsner with a touch of roasted oats for flavour and colour, hit with Cascade, Centennial, CTZ, and Nectaron hops throughout the boil and a bountiful dry hop, then ripped with a standard American yeast strain. Like old school, but new.
Why Is It Called Crego Lake?
We asked Josh if there was a body of water that meant something to him as he designed the label. He said yes, and sent it to us with Crego Lake in the name.
Where Did the Art Come Frome?
Our Reservoir Series is curious small batch beer alchemy at its best, and the labels all feature art by a Canadian artist. This label is by BC’s Josh Nadeau, whose Instagram account, @swordandpencil, features a library of images and musings about goodness, truth, and beauty.
How To Enjoy It
Pour it out at 8-10° Celsius, tuck into a good album, and chase it with some fine scotch.
Did You Know?
Josh just announced a book - Room for Good Things to Run Wild - and you should consider snagging a copy to read with this beer. You'll just need to keep the beer cold until February 2025.
